I agree that NVDA at http://www.nvda-project.org/ is probably the best
choice.
I believe System Access ($399) from Serotek has a pay by the month option.
They also have a free option call System Access to Go. You can learn more at
http://www.serotek.com/system-access-standalone.
GW Micro lets you purchase Window-Eyes ($895) in monthly installments of
$39. You can read more at http://www.gwmicro.com/Window-Eyes/.
I also copied Ken on this note.

I'd suggest NVDA which is free, open source, and widely used
internationally.

Please see message below from ACBM member Ken Rodgers. If you have any
suggestions please email him directly at [log in to unmask]

I've been involved in doing some work in the international
disability areana and one of my colleagues needs a screen reader
that doesn't cost any money, like an open source type of screen
reader program. Is anyone aware of free or extremely low cost
screen reading solutions other than JAW's? These will be for
pretty poor countries so the software needs to be pretty
inexpensive if not free. Any leads you can provide is greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.
