I suppose that depends on your definition of heavy.  I have done 
numerous training cycles that included deadlifts at least once a week, 
and my single-rep limit was always right around 2x bodyweight.  
Definitely heavy.  But 1.5x bodyweight for a few reps was pretty heavy, 
too.
