So, atherosclerosis and osteoporosis. Very interesting. The atherosclerosis sounds like the kind that George Mann found in the Masai. So not a cause of morbidity, perhaps. And I wonder whether the osteoporosis could have anything to do with excess vitamin A, or an imbalance of A and D. I imagine the Inuit would have the traditional wisdom to not eat enough seal liver or bear liver to make their skin fall off, et cetera. But they might not have ever been able to connect aspects of their diet to eventual osteoporosis, late in life, which could possibly happen at a lower level of excess.
I'm not ready to jump to a conclusion that living on pemmican, or a similar ratio of macronutrients, would cause these problems, but I'm open enough to it that I'm doing a sort of experiment on myself this year.
