Lord save us! The end (of fiscal conservatism) is near! All prepare
for doom! The poor people down the street have health care so the
"remunerations to other countries" have to stop! What will we do
without the exorbitant prices American pharmaceuticals extort from the
vapid citizens of the US and the rest of the (read: formerly
colonized) world?! Gasp?! How will Africa survive without
remunerations if there is one global price for AZT or hypertension
medication or infant formula?! Quick! Let us pray to the informed
gods of national health care to tell us on their almighty blogs what
went wrong in France, Canada, England and the rest of "old" Europe!
Let us rush to the conservative talking heads who will soothe the
souls of the American middle class while encouraging them to fight
against their own best interests with tales about how horrible the
medical situation is in Socialist Europe or Communist Cuba (the
country that offers free accredited, medical training for future
American doctors who will go on to serve rural American places often
for little or no pay)! Let us heed the screeds from Scottish papers,
a country whose doctors historically have conducted an inordinate
amount of horrifying experimentation on black bodies in the name of
making a national scientific name, because, well, because! Help!
Head for the hills! The end of the (right wing conservative) world is
upon us and all we have are innuendo and lies to protect ourselves!
