Earlier this month, Governor John Lynch proclaimed May as awareness Month in
New Hampshire.  This past week, to kick-off the month, Governor Martin
O’Malley of Maryland and Governor Ted Kulongoski of Oregon, made similar
proclamations in their states. These leaders understand that greater
recognition of celiac disease is needed. 

Many leaders in the celiac community are helping educate policymakers by
supporting the National Celiac Awareness bill, HConRes 110.  A few of the
supporters include:  the Center for Celiac Research at University of
Maryland, University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center, Wm. K. Warren Medical
Research Center for Celiac Disease, American College of Physicians, American
Osteopathic Association and many more.
