Hello, all.

I realize that this post is way off topic, so if you'd rather not read it or
any thread it might generate, I'll completely understand. Just feel free to
hit that good old delete key, and I'll let the post die a peaceful death.
(grin)

I have an old set of stereo speakers lying around here that I'd like to try
to hook up to my Victor Reader Stream in order to listen to music.

The speakers each have a single-conductor lead coming out from the speaker
which ends in a bare wire. The wire is supposed to slip into connections on
the back of a stereo receiver that I no longer have.

What would I have to do to make these speakers usable for the Stream?

In other words, how can I get from the stereo mini-plug connection on the
Stream to each of the external speakers in order to play Stream music in
stereo using the external speakers?

There's the issue of how to do the connections, and also, how to amplify the
music coming from the Stream so as to actually drive the speakers.

Looking for the easiest and cheapest thing to try here.
