I just prefer getting my food from ... well... food. Protein powder
strikes me as more of a food substitute.

Getting enough protein shouldn't be a big deal if you're eating plenty of
meat. I was right at 200 grams of protein yesterday, and it all came from
food (eggs for breakfast, turkey for lunch, and bison for dinner -- all
along with various fruits, veggies, and nuts).
