Just be cautious about using "artificial" means to an end (pun intended)
for too long a period of time. Regular use of any supplementation of
this type (flax or other) usually causes the body to get used to, and
then require, the supplementation. But it's good for occasional
short-term use.

Senokot is based on the familiar senna plant. I've used senna long ago,
but I'd never use it more than once in 3 months due to it's too-strong
effects and the way it works (irritating the intestinal lining).

Triphala (var. Trifala) lit. "three fruits" is a good Ayurvedic compound
that also is strong and good for that once-in-a-while extreme - but
better balanced and does less irritating.

I agree with an earlier reply - once you get well into the diet,
regularity ensues (with an occasional hiccup). Though I didn't see it
mentioned, another thing to consider is that the body uses much more %
of our food than on a SAD diet, so there is much less solid waste and,
sometimes, less often.

Regards,
