Hello all,
1. Mocha Mix has a new lactose-free 1% milk substitute out called Dairy
Break. I noticed maltodextrin in the ingredients and called Presto Foods
@ 1-800-243-5040 and spoke with Melissa DeHart, thier nutritionist. She
said their maltodextrin is corn-based and uses no grain-based alcohols in
the extraction. It is done by an acid enzyme process. She says it is
entirely gluten free.
2. The National Vitamin Co. has a multivitamin with minerals called
Theratrum. I spoke with their chemist, Tom, who told me that their
binders are cellulose, and carnuba wax is used for polish on the outside
just to hold it together until it dissolves. He said it is gluten-free
and I use it without a reaction. He is at 1-800-538-5828.
