Thanks for the tip about the study and editorial in the New England
Journal of Medicine on oats.  I've read it and it seems to be heartening
news.  One question:  the study concludes that "moderate" amounts of oats
are not harmful and the consumption rate in the study was about 50 g per
day of oats.  How much is this by American measures?  Am I right in
calculating it at approximately 2 ounces?  If so, is this a dry measure?
How much oatmeal/oatmeal cookies etc. does this represent?  I guess the
best way is to measure the amount and see how much of something it
makes.  I'd welcome anyone else's interpretation of this.
