The subsidized portable Solar Bible available to the blind for US$20 from
http://www.braillebibles.org/audiobibles.htm
is now also available in the New American Standard (NAS95)
translation in addition to the KJV Bible.
The Solar Bible is a portable reading device containing the text of
the Old and New Testament . It is about the size of a larger cell
phone. the Bible is read by a human voice rather than by
text-to-speech. the Bible text can be navigated by book, chapter and
10-15-second increments in the audio. the Solar Bible is available in
either the KJV or now also the NAS95 translation.
the NAS95 is a modern very literal translation. It is considered to
be one of the best and most literal translation by many in
evangelical circles. It has an 11th grade reading level and is not
the most easily read translation but does not have the archaic
language and word forms of the KJV tradition.
For the price, it is a great alternative as a portable Bible.
Hope this might be of use to someone.
God Bless,
Doris
