Mom and dad have been married for 7 years. Mom is 90 years old, and dad is
80 years old. Dad fell from a three-story building about 11 years ago
leaving him with a nearly fatal brain injury. His wife has coached him
daily giving him simple directions to do things. His memory is nearly gone.
Certain things bring the right answers, but she uses oxygen 24/7. Dad has
run all of her family and friends away because he glares a them for no
uncertain reason. He doesn't like anybody on her side of the family and has
always sid that ifg something happens to her, he wants to be in Ohio where
his girls are.
When he arrived at our house, he couldn't remember me, he got my sister and
I mixed up all week end and stillt hought Dave was my care-taker, not my
husband and treated him accordingly till we convinced him that he is jmy
husband. He suffers from dimentia related to the brain injury and his wife
can no longer cope. She says there are no adult day care centers in
Colville where they live. So she brought him to his own family who will
love and care for him. He finally understands that he will need a power of
attorney and hs given me that privilege. My older sister wants to move in
with us to helop take care of hijm. We're taking that step slowly. We have
a doctor's appointment tomorrow wso he can meet his new doctor while his
wife is still with us to give backgroujnd that I don't have.
He had loaded some guns while living with her and had said from time to time
that the best solution was to kill them both. Momk took away the guns and
is bringing us here so she can rest.
That's all for now.

My mom will be leaving soon. Her plane leaves on Saturday. My older
sister, the only one left besides myself, will comen tomorow and spend
several days with us while we enroll Dad in to an adult DayCare center. We
have a doctor's appointment to set Dad up with our family doctor tomorrow.
My sister's name is Penny. Funny, our female kitty's name is also Penny.
Anyway, she has always kind of pushed me around, and it will be interesting
to see how this all works. Please pray for us that wqe get the right
paperwork done to care for Dad.
Thanksl. I have to help Dave. I'll write more later.
