Hi,Sharon,
I am not Mr.Phil but dinosaurs and birds are very very closely
related. for one, the skelletons of some birdlike dinosaurs were very
similar to almost identical to that of the early birds - no pun
intended <g> - and some dinosaurs had feathers, too.
As I said in my earlier post on the subject, an Archeopteryx fossil
(this was a very early bird that still had claws on its wings and a
bony tail) was mistaken as a dinosaur fossil for several decades
because some feather imprints in the fossil plate were overlooked.
there is a species of birds living today (of the chicken family if I
remember correctly) that still has claws on its wings and climbs
bushes and trees with these and then sort of hanglides from its pirch.
I don't really want to open a can of worms. I know that many
conservative Christians reject the Theory of Evolution and I disagree
with some of my dearest friends on this subject.. It's just for me
the Theory of Evolution, while being and remaining a theory, is the
theory about creation that makes the most sense. I have never
understood why an omniscient and omnipotent god should not be able to
choose to create thru evolution.
This said, it fascinates me to see that as much as humanity strives
to understand our origian and how we got to be here, even our most
scientific efforts give us only glimpses of the wonder of creation
and our understanding of it will always remain theoretical until the
day we see the Lord face to face. I've always been intersted and
fascinated with paleontology and paleonthropology and have followed
and read on the subject. I know that theories and our understanding
on the subject has changed, some of it quite drastically, even over
the just 40-plus years of my lifetime thus far.
Take care and god Bless,
Doris
