I was just going to post this evening after having final meeting with the
neurosurgeon today. He will have surgery Wednesday, January 14, at 11:00
a.m., mountain standard time. The main purpose of the surgery among other
things, is to decompress the spinal cord as the way the vertebrae are
positioned in his cervical spine, the spinal cord is being severely
compressed and/or pinched. There will be a plate placed in front of the
neck. He will have incisions in both the front and back sides of his neck.
The surgery will last 7 hours. We would very much appreciate prayers as
this is quite a surgery. The neurosurgeon is very optimistic about Philip
regaining of function in his hands and legs. I am not believing anything
other than positive and I would like it if you all could agree with us.
Sandy
