I need some desperate help here.

My up and down arrow keys are not working while I'm in a Word document. 
However, they work just fine anywhere else, and the left and right arrows 
also work as well. I've never had this problem before. I re-booted the 
computer, but the problem persists. Are there any other ideas out there on 
what might be causing the problem? Thanks.
