This is basically what I do too, with the exception that I copy the books 
directly onto the SD card via the card reader, without using the Companion 
software.

Seems to work fairly well, and is a lot faster.

HI Tom,
Here is the process as I understand it.

I've been a Stream owner for a few years and here is how I download and play
a book.

I download what I want from the Bard site. Then I plug an sd card reader
into my computer.

You first have to make sure youput the card into the Victor Reader Stream
for it to install all of the necessary directories, (sorry folders.)

I use Humanware Companion to unzip the books I want and it puts them into
the proper directories on the SD card.

AFter the process is done I then just plug the SD card into the slot on the
Stream and proceed to play the books I want.
