Rick,

I'm not sure how to adjust it either, so check the manual, or ask another 
ham who has the same amplifier.  Adjusting the amplifier probably does 
entail opening the case, and I certainly understand why you don't want to 
poke around in there.  Besides, as someone else on this list pointed out, 
you may have a faulty cable somewhere, and that's probably the cause of the 
problem.
