Thanks for the info on High Power antennas.  If I have time with everything 
else going on, I'll check them out.

I already have folks out in the Boulder area who have agreed to help put up 
whatever antennas I decide.

As for the tower, it will be donated to a local County EOC. ... I can donate 
it, and at least write it off as a tax deduction.

It's now back to packing here, Steve, but I'll try to write more later.

Tom,

Alpha Delta is a good choice and they have a good reputation for quality,
performance, and support.

Over the past several years, I've used 2 different antennas from HY Power
Antennas in Pennsylvania.  I think designs are similar, in that both
companies use coils to shorten the antennas  without the use of traditional
traps.   I think AD uses copperweld wire, while the antennas from HY Power
are   solid number 12 insulated wire and they are a bit less expensive.
I've been pleased with both of the antennas I have had from Hy Power, and
Barry  responds to e-mails quickly.
