I can agree with that, I always like to have a warranty on my primary radio 
for the first year or so, because if there is a manufacturer's defect, I was 
always told generally it will break in the first 30 days. It doesn't always 
work that way, but that's what I've been told and there's always that 
thought you never really know what you're buying used. I don't mind buying 
used, but for the radio I use every day, like my TS-2000, I rather go new 
for the warranty, and the knowledge it hasn't been abused.
