IC-718 is smaller and good, you'd need an external tuner like the LDG 1t100 
or something but that's a good one. IC-700 too though I don't think that has 
direct entry, there may be a way from the mic, I don't know. There's a 
learning curve on the radio but I'd doubt if it's impossible. The TS-480 
might even do what you want come to think, it's smaller.
