The Celiac Scene is pleased to endorse the Chef to Plate awareness program sponsored by the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America. The Celiac Scene will help to make this awareness campaign an international event by bringing awareness of celiac disease and other forms of gluten intolerances through the participation of restaurants in Canada.

Chef to Plate is a national awareness campaign being held in May, during National Celiac Awareness month. This is the first year that Canada will also celebrate in May along with the rest of the world. The Chef to Plate Campaign recognizes restaurants providing gluten-free menu options and helps to spread awareness of gluten intolerances to the public dining at those restaurants. Some groups will plan a special meal celebration on May 3; other restaurants will display awareness information throughout the month. For more information about Chef to Plate and how you or restaurants you frequent can get involved in spreading awareness, please visit www.gluten.net/events.php<http://www.gluten.net/events.php>.

The Celiac Scene (www.theceliacscene.com<http://www.theceliacscene.com/>) is a new exciting and amazingly useful web-based resource, not only for people with celiac disease but restaurants, stores, hotels, spas, GF food industry etc. Its focus is currently Canada but plans to expand to the US soon. GIG is pleased to be working with the wonderful resource to support persons living with gluten intolerances throughout North America.
