I just wanted to re-post something I submitted back in April 2007.

Subject: RE: Summary of Shortbread recipe
To: Mignon Lee <[log in to unmask]>

The recipe seems to be something that a lot of people want to try. The
following are the suggestions, questions, etc I received.

Can this recipe be used for crumbs for pie crust? The cookie is crumbly
anyway, so I think it would make a great base for a pie crust, cheese cake,
etc.

Great suggestion for additions to the recipe. Add one half (1/2) teaspoon
vanilla and crushed nuts to recipe then sprinkle with 1 Tablespoon sugar
before baking. I tried it and was very pleased with the results.

Another listmate was pleased to hear that someone else substitutes
cornstarch in recipes for baking.

A lot of replies were from people who love shortbread and were happy to have
a new recipe to try. I'd love to hear from anyone who tries it. I'll
summarize anything I receive.

I almost didn't send this recipe out. Now I'm glad I did. I'll be posting my
favorite brownie recipe next.
