on twitter today i was sad to see the confusion between wheatfree and
gluten free.
someone recommended fig bars from the famous brand Barbara's Bakery
as being better than their gluten free original. being an old fig
newton fan from age eight or so, i checked it out. sadly, right on
their website: http://bit.ly/oU0BF it states the bars have barley
flour and are listed in their wheat free category, not their gluten
free category.
so even when the manufacturer does everything right there is still
the chance of contamination by lack of understanding. being a full
celiac, that would be very dangerous for me, but even others with
intolerance or sensitivity to have this clarified to them by a
physician,
i think. of course, that is all too rare....mostly, i guess, it is
the patient enlghtening the doctor about all this....sigh....
