I handle wheat straw now and then, putting it in a chicken pen or the doghouse for the winter, and try not to breathe too much around it. I don't know that I have ever had any kind of reaction, but I'm curious, have any of you ever had a reaction to handling straw bales? Was it respiratory or your usual gluten reaction? (I suspect that the old problem of "miller's lung" was most likely to occur in millers who had gluten intolerance.) I forsee that we might have need of some straw bales in some work we'll be doing, and I'm wondering if I should avoid being involved in that aspect of it. Donna
