Had not heard that.  Am surprised because most of their rigs were supported
in some way with a synthesizer.

There was a 950, supposed to be a really good transceiver, but not very
accessible.  I don't think it supported the VS3 or whichever chip was around
then.
I have an 850 and agree - it's a great radio.
