Thanks!  And that's what I suspected.  

In other words, more or less, a web crawler is nothing more than another 
form of search engine which will be as effective or ineeffective dependent 
on the search criteria supplied by the user.

And, with all search mechanisms, it often takes multiple attempts to come 
up with all that one wants.

The one drawback I can see with a crawler is that it ties up one's pc a 
bit as it does its probing.
A search engine, on the other hand, doesn't do this and learns through 
previous searches.
