Hi
I used to have a lighting arrestor and wish I had one now. There are those times when one is away from home and forgot to unplug the radios. I look at it like insurance. Also I am told that if one lives in a climate with cold dry winters that static charges can build up on ones antenna and discharge in to the radio. A lighting arrestor is supposed to help with this also.
Just my thoughts.
God bless,
Mark
