Thanks Lucas, Roxanne and Jim,
Well thanks to your help, DOS now sees the CD-ROM. Only trouble is when I try
to access it I get;
CDR101: Not ready reading drive L
Abort, Retry, Fail?
At the end of the MS copywrite notice in DOS, it says;
Drive L: = Driver IDECD001 unit 0
I created a DOSSTART.BAT file as per instructions and didn't use autoexec.bat.
Dosstart.bat just contains he statement;
C:\Windows\Command\MSCDEX.EXE /L:L /D:IDECD001
Config.sys contains;
Device=Himem.sys
Devicehigh=C:\CPQDOS\CPQIDECD.SYS /D:IDECD001
MSCDEX.EXE, HIMEM.SYS, and CPQIDECD.SYS are all properly located. What have I
done wrong? My hair is already thin and I can't afford to lose much more.
TIA, Art Cassel
