Good Day all,
I don't know if my first message went thru, but I'm desparate. So here
it is again:
I have a Compaq Prosignia VS 486/DX2 66 with 24mb, 1/2gb and a 2.1gb
SCSI hard drives. Downloaded the softpaq to setup the ESS sound card
and the Hayes 33.6 DSVD internal modem.
I installed Windows 95B and configured it for my kids. I then upgraded
the processor to an Evergreen Turbochip 133 and everything was working
great.
Then I installed NT 4.0, that went fine too, except for the sound card
and internal modem, those weren't recognized. I restarted the computer
and received the above message.
Ok, no problem, I booted with the softpaq config and it reconfigured
automatically. Grabbed the correct interrupt settings from Win95 and
rebooted to NT. Added a com port on interrupt 3 to setup the modem,
rebooted and received that message!
Only this time, it won't read the diskette to boot to the Compaq
Configuration Utility. I don't have a diagnostics partition and every
time I reboot or power up this message appears and the PC just stops.
I already switched back to the original processor to see if the config
would pick that up, but I still get the same message!
Is there anything I can do?
TIA
