Dear listers
I have put together a machine using a VLB DX motherboard with a
DX (33Mz) CPU
16 megs of 72 pin FPM Ram.
Trident 9440 VLB video with verious Trident drivers (all work)
Promise 2300+ VLB drive controller w/ WD Caviar 22000 2 gig HD
Zip internal IDE
Mitsumi 4x CD-Rom on the second IDE channel as master
Best Data 14400 internal
no device conflicts
It is running Win95a and runs well.
scandisk OK
The only problem I have is that if I use a right-click menu or the start
menu I have to make my seletion very quickly, or the menu collapses
before I can make my selection. There is periodic short disk activity
accompanied by a mousepointer w/ hourglass. I wonder if this has
anything to do with it.
Is the CPU too slow, or not enough Ram?
Thanks
Joel Bluming
