In the BIOS setup, there is probably a setting for "boot order".
Most common settings are:
"C,A" boot from hard drive, or floppy if no hard drive present.
"A,C" boot from floppy, or from hard drive if no floppy in drive
[Some newer BIOSes add "SCSI" as an option, and increase the number
of permutations accordingly....]
My guess would be that your machine was originally set to "A,C",
and has been switched to "C,A". Each has its pros and cons.
