Subject: [PCBUILD] Serial mouse not working
Hi folks,
Can someone please walk me through the correct steps for installing a
serial mouse on a Win '95 machine? Windows Add/Remove New Hardware
finds the mouse, but installs it as a ps/2 and it doesn't work. I
need some real specific help on what to look for please.
Thanks!
-----------------------
Hope I'm not stating the obvious, but is the mouse a purely serial rodent or
is there a small button on the device somewhere to allow it to be switched
between serial and PS/2? I work in a school where we have a number of these
beasties, and the students love to 'freak out' certain teachers by moving
the switch from the MS [Microsoft, of course ;~/] to the PS/2 position;
then, of course, "there's something wrong with my mouse!"
Win95 usually doesn't misteak <g> the mouse.
