Greetings--

In my experience with Dell, their computers usually are accompanied by a set of restore disks (or maybe, lately) a restore partition.  The COA and license number are included and automatically entered when doing a reinstall.  Futher, such disks are "paired" with the computer and will not work on other machines.

Sincerely,

Paul A. Shippert

I'm curious why is Dell different? I ask because I purchased a refurbished
Dell laptop a year ago which, except for a bad virus episode, it's run
flawlessly but, it may a reinstall eventually.

You need the  product ID code unless you have a Dell.

Is anyone else having issues getting legitimate CD keys to work with Windows

XP reinstalls?

I have 4 computers down right now because Micro$oft thinks they are
pirated!!!

I have called the 800 and attempted to re-register but no luck.  Is this a
Windows7 conspiracy?  Am I the only one?

If anyone has a contact where a person can talk to a human at Microsoft
please share!
