When I worked for another company, I used to bring my own personal 
computer with me and established an encrypted link (encrypted tunnel) 
through the firewall to an outside ISP for my mail and internet 
requests.  That way, no one in the company could read my downloaded 
personal mail and track my activity.   I did only company work on 
company computers and personal stuff on my own portable.
