    Its actually not garbage.  The header is being put into the message 
body.  It has to do with encoding I believe.

    Ok I am using Outlook Express.  I looked at the settings for both plain 
text and for HTML.  In the plain text settings, MIME is enabled but the 
option "Encode text using" is set to None.  In the HTNL options, the "Encode 
text using" is set to Quotable Printable.  That may resolve this.
