Hi Fred.
I'm afraid that he is way to optimistic with his battery life estimates,
and I've long though that he should install a small switch on the side
somewhere to be able to turn off the unit by switching out the positive
lead when the unit is not in use. The battery life would be greatly
increased if there wasn't that steady, although minute, standby current
flowing all of the time.
Mine has done a little better than 4 to 5 weeks, but falls far far short of
the year that he thinks a battery should last.
