the 570's receive audio is a bit more friendly to those with hearing
impairments.  I think the biggest reason is the ability to alter the if
shift...you can play with the high pass and low pass filters on the 2000,
but it is difficult to get that fine tuning of a single IF shift control
like the 570 has.
There is a reason the 570 was so popular for so many years.  In my opinion,
it is probably one of the all around best amateur radio transceivers ever
built...not the best, but one of the best from a users perspective and from
an operators perspective.
It's sort of like the mini van of radios.
