Paul.... I tried both of them.. old and new over and over and over and
over... nothing worked... What I think happened here is while I was working in
a graphics program, my mouse/cursor started acting funny, he would shake
and move and vibrate all across the screen.... I had no control over it.
This has happened to me before, but after about 5 minutes it would stop... but
this time, it never stopped and since I had no control, I couldn't do
anything therefore lost all I was working on in that program, so I called the
people who had my antivirus program, thinking someone was in my puter and
took control over it.... Now.. at that time, I didn't know my password
wouldn't work when I logged into this company while he was trying to help me....
I tried both passwords over and over and over and even gave the guy one to
try, but nothing worked... he did a scan and there were no invasions of
malware. That's when I decided to call Dell and they said I had to format
which would be a fee.

I have no idea why that mouse did that.. it's done this a couple times
before as it dances across the screen shaking and you can't do anything but
watch it. So I decided to try and do a REPAIR on my Dell, but in order to do
that, it told me I had to put in my password, which I didn't have. So as
a last resort, I did a system restore and that's what did it for me. My
password worked fine after that.

Did you try your old password? Maybe the new one didn't 'take'. Or try
the new one but add a space at the end. Both long shots, but worth a try.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Lost Password

I have a Dell studio, win 7 home, and somehow my pw won't work... I have
it written down, but no matter how many times I put it in there.. it still
won't work. This is the right pw cause I have the date I reset it which
was the other day. I looked in the Reset PW section of my computer, and it
keeps telling me it's not right and I know it is. I am the ONLY person
using this puter so there is no reason why it wont work. I just read where I
had to reinstall Windows 7 in order to change my password. I need
help...
is there any other way I can change it without reinstallation. Harriet
