Interestingly, the fasting glucose is usually "normal." Post prandial glucose
is the one that will often go up, then crash in a few hours due to the load
of insulin.

Likewise, I heard a lecture on Gestational Diabetes. Normally, the blood
sugars are OK, but following a meal they go way up.
