Guess what, I always have been a mosquito magnet myself.

When I lived back east my arms and legs would be running sores all summer.
The two weeks I spent in Yosemite where hell, nothing would keep them away.

Fortunately, there are only a few mosquitos in Southern California since we
do not have a lot of standing water, or any water for that fact.  But the
fact is if there is a mosquito in the house, I get bit.  My husband is immune.

One other question though, do you have type O blood.  Mosquitos prefer women
and type O blood.
