I imagine some of you have heard of the author, Dan Brown, who wrote two
books that have been made into movies. The two books I'm referring to are
The Da Vinci Code and his latest one that just came out not too long again
as a movie called Angels and Demons. Going through the books recorded for
the BARD program and put on the website for download in the last 30 days, I
ran across Dan Browns books and just finished Angels and Demons. I just
started the Da Vinci Code today. These are not Christian fiction stories
but there is a lot of information based in truth relating to the Catholic
church, the Vatican, secret societies, Freemasonry, and secret symbolism. I
found Angels and Demons an excellent read. I remember the movie made it
into the news because the Vatican protested it spoke out against the
Catholic church but later recanted, apparently someone in the Vatican read
the book and reported it actually supported the Catholic church, or at the
very least, didn't put it down, and the movie wasn't band in Rome as the
Vatican was first suggesting. I am a big fan of adventure novels by Clive
Cussler and his latest novel called Corsair; The Oregon Files, is another in
the series of a mercenary undercover ship that helps save the day in every
book. If you thought the stories that had Harrison Ford in it, oh, what was
his name? You know, Raiders of the Lost Ark and those books put into
movies? If you think they were adventurous and have loads of exciting
action in them, The Oregon Files series beats them hands down. This latest
Oregon Files story called, as I said, Corsair, was just release this year
and I downloaded it a few days ago and just finished it today. It has some
interesting things weaved into the story concerning ancient archeological
findings relating to Jesus that was very cleverly done. Actually, out of
the 30 plus books written by Clive Cussler, and now many additional
adventure books written by co-authors, including his own son, I've only read
one book I didn't think was all that exciting. Clive Cussler used to live
in a suburb of Denver called Golden Colorado which is only about 20 minutes
from where I live. The good guys always win in Cussler's books, too.
Anyhow, the way I heard some Christians talk about it, I figured those Dan
Brown books were sacrilegious horror stories with demons and all types of
supernatural type things mixed into the stories but as it turns out, they
aren't remotely anything like that but they are great adventure novels. Oh,
I just remembered Harrison Ford's character name. Indiana Jones.
