I have, 2 HF rigs, actually 3 but one has nothing at all attached to it, not
even power right now,, but one's a TS-2000 with all antenna jacks full,
antenna switch with 3 antennas going to it, TW-1 in line, w2ihy 8 band EQ,
rigblaster plus with all cables for CW and going to the computer and
everything, a 2 meter packet setup, my 900 MHz radio with external speaker,
all radios in use have external speakers here, my GMRS radio, police
scanner, and on the desk right next to it is my computer which has a lot of
that stuff hooked to it and all the normal computer stuff, plus a UPS that
plugs in to the USB port, probably 20 wires coming off the back of the
computer. I dread the day I have to pull all this apart, and I didn't
mention all the little accessory stuff I have around over here because I'd
miss something. To think I was going to put my UHF repeater up here for a
while but then I got a good deal on a Motorola Micor station which I'm
rebuilding and I can't fit that cabinet up here, not to mention it's not the
cleanest thing in the world and with out a paint job the cabinet has seen
better days. I'm more concerned about rebuilding the repeater itself right
now though, that will stay in the cellar right where it is. Anyway, you can
imagine the mess of wires here with out that. I suppose the repeater won't
be too bad if I can fit the IRLP stuff in it, it's going to be very tight
though even with the small, supposed book sized computer I built for that
project. Now if I can just figure out linux enough to get it going but
that's for another day, I might have someone else do that for me since I
can't be bothered to deal with another OS.
It is quite the mess of wires in my radio/computer area though if I tear it
down and want to remember what goes with what, it will take a very long time
to get it all right.
