Hi All,
I also tried today the Kindle for PC with Accessibility and was very happy
to see that it worked. Now, I am not sure if I am missing something, but it
does not have the ability to navigate via word or even spell the word. I
think this is important because sometimes I din't understand certain words
and it would have been helpful if I could have spelled them out. Also, has
anybody tried using the search feature ? I tried it but could not get it to
work.

Hi all,

I downloaded the Kindle for PC with Accessibility Plug in and tried it on a
book that was listed as TTS disabled and it works! It really works. I am
so excited because this means that all the Kindle books are now available to
us! I actually got choked up because I feel like the world is all out there
for the reading! This is so cool!

You can change reading speed although the fastest is still slower then I
usually use but hey, I'm not complaining. You can even select between a
male or female voice. You can reverse screen colors and change font size
too.

This is just so cool.

Dear [log in to unmask] subscriber,

Amazon.com is releasing a new version of Kindle for PC that adds
accessibility features designed for blind and low-vision customers.

Kindle for PC with Accessibility Plugin is a free, downloadable application
for your Windows PC. It provides the following accessibility features:

text-to-speech reading with adjustable voice settings, voice-guided menu
navigation, large font sizes, high contrast reading mode, keyboard
navigation, and accessible shortcuts.

With this software, for the first time ever, the entire collection of
English language books in the Kindle Store can be read aloud. With over
750,000 English language titles, Amazon offers the largest selection of
accessible ebooks. In order to use the text-to-speech feature, an external
screen reader program must be installed and running on the Windows PC.

The free download is available at:

http://www.amazon.com/kindle/accessibility

We welcome your feedback at: [log in to unmask]

Sincerely,

The Kindle Team
