Hello, I received this information after talking with Tracy at
Humanware in regards to the CD unit for the Stream:
Hello Robin,

As per our phone discussion, please find attached a brochure in PDF and
a Getting started guide in word format. Also below are some quick
points. The price for the unit on it's own is $120.00. If one would
like to purchase with Stream as a bundle the price is $450.00.

Here are some notes below:

Victor Reader Stream CD Accessory

What Can It Do and What Does It Not Do?

The new Stream CD accessory launched March 4, 2010 provides the
following features:

Plays and copies a DAISY 2 or DAISY 3 book on CD from the CD accessory
drive to the Talking Books folder on the Stream SD card.
Plays and copies an RFB&D AudioPlus CD book to the SD card.
Plays a DAISY built-book CD and allows browsing of the books on the CD.
Copies a selected DAISY multi-CD book to the SD card.
Plays an MP3 music CD but does not copy it.
Allows bookshelf browsing and playing of books, MP3, and text files on a
CD with a $VR folder structure.
What the CD Accessory Does Not Do:

It does not play or copy commercial music CDs.
It does not copy MP3 music CDs.
It does not copy CDs with any other non DAISY content such as text
files.
It does not provide any extra functionality to what is possible using
the CD drive on a computer. Rather, it simplifies the copy task or
provides an alternative for those who don't use a computer.

Launches Victor ReaderStream CD Edition

If you already have a Victor Stream, the CD hook up is $129.00 plus
$20.00 for shipping. Each disk is saved into a separate folder, so an
audio book that is ten CD's long will appear in ten parts in your
Talking Books folder.
You can, of course, then use the computer to put the ten parts into one
folder.

While the Stream CD Edition isn't a must-have, it can be convenient for
people who have lots of downtime away from the computer. I buy lots of
books (print and commercial audio) to keep up with the latest doings in
the literary world. When I'm working at my desk, I can rip audiobooks,
which average nine to twelve CD's (though fifteen and sixteen disks is
not unusual), while I'm typing away on other things, but when my job
takes me away from my desk, I often find myself doing lots of sitting
around and waiting. I can't really do any of my usual computer work
because the material I deal with is confidential, but I can do other
things, like move my audio books to the Stream.

I confess I would be more tempted if the Stream could be told that the
next X number of CD's belonged in a single folder.
