Greetings,

Harry, why do you even want to zip up an audio file?

Zipping an already compressed file will not usually compress it any more,
the only time you should use any kind of compression routine on audio files
is when you wish to combine several into one archive and then specify in the
parameters no compression.

I say the above, because, WinZip will attempt to compress them very
slightly, any further compression may result in the file, when an attempt is
made to de-compress, being unplayable. So, the only way to send if too large
is use a site such as Sendspace or YouCanSendIt or DropLoad or BigFile.

Alternatively, split the file and send in parts, just hope the person
receiving has the facility to re-combine the file fragments using GoldWave
or some other sound editting program.

From Colin Howard, who lives near Southampton in
Southern England.
