thanks Vic. I have read the manual and made sure that it is plugged into,
and set to the parallel port. I'm at a loss.

Hi Albert:
I don't have any specific experience with that particular embosser, however
I will give you some generic things to check.
Make sure the embosser is expecting to receive data via a parallel port and
not a serial port. Some models of embossers have both serial and parallel
ports.
The parallel port on your embosser will be a sentronicks port, I have no
idea how to spell it correctly. This will look different than your serial
DB9 or DB25 port in that there will be no screws just some protrusions that
allow a clip on each side to swing in and hold the connector in place.
Hope this helps as a beginning.
