SALARY: 
Starting salary will be between $33,581 and $53,841 per year. This
position is in pay schedule 
07, range 04. A six month probationary period is required. 
JOB DUTIES: 
This position provides first and second level technical support and help
desk services for 
WCBVI workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devises with
special emphasis on 
Assistive Technologies (AT) for the blind and visually impaired.
Responsibilities include desktop 
and peripheral configuration, standardization, imaging, rollout and
related inventory and 
recordkeeping duties. This position provides backup network and service
administration duties 
including user account creation and management, data storage and backup,
data security 
administration, e-mail management, and print server management. This
position develops, 
produces, and supports end users in the creation of WCBVI digital
multi-media productions, real 
time video streaming technologies, and communication technologies such
as podcasting, blogs, 
and wikis; designs, produces, maintains, and updates web page content
for the WCBVI hosted 
internet web sites ensuring that content is consistent with the mission,
goals and initiatives of 
the WCBVI and is ADA accessible; plans, develops, and implements
training opportunities for 
staff members in both standard and non-standard software and hardware. 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 
Knowledge of desktop operating systems such as Windows Vista, XP and Mac
OS 8.6 and 
higher; PC hardware and software with the ability to install and
troubleshoot operating systems 
and standard application packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and
Access; Microsoft family 
server products; 2003 Server, Exchange 2003, ISA 2004, IIS; commonly
used web design 
software such as Dreamweaver, Front Page and Fireworks; common web
development 
elements such as Cascading Style Sheets; current trends in website
development; Microsoft 
personal productivity Suite of Office 2003 products; project planning
and management; and 
working in a collaborative or team environment. Skill in using
movie-editing software for 
development of digital multimedia presentations; reading and writing;
interpersonal 
communication; and organization and time management. Ability to work
cooperatively with a 
variety of individuals including staff, administration and students and
to prioritize, schedule and 
complete multiple simultaneous requests.
