Hi Ken:



Thanks for the input. Actually, my diabetic onset was caused by a medication I had to take. Sadly, manufacturers do not always advertise the fact that some users can develop diabetes as a result of taking the drug, as in my case. There was a class action law suit, but I don't know the outcome, nor did I participate 



Thankfully I did find the Paleo lifestyle online during research into how becoming non-dependent on diabetes medications. 



Also, I was born with a hypoactive pituitary gland as well as other adrenal problems. All this probably contributed to the development of type II diabetes. 



While I agree that HIT is of benefit, it is not possible for me as I sustained a serious back injury from being bucked off a horse when I was 12. Swimming, walks, hiking, and the like are about all I can tolerate before I loose feeling in my lower extremities. 



Anyway, returning to my initial question, I was asking about the possible activity level of paleo people as an answer to a question posed to me by a friend.

If what you wrote below is the case, sadly you're not going to be able to

help yourself. Playing an organ makes no significant metabolic demands.

Hiking and swimming do not address loss of type II strength muscle. Riding a

bike doing interval spin classes could get you going in the right direction.

Doing weight or other resistance training (bodyweight, for example) using a

HIIT (high intensity interval training) approach is the most likely method

for regaining your metabolic fitness and health. Many people don't like

coming to grips with Mother Nature's laws of health - they should invest in

Death Insurance (normally called life insurance) since they rationalize

themselves out of doing the very things constituting Living Life Insurance.

In fact, I strongly dislike organized exercise and refuse to participate in

it. I walk, I garden, I play concert piano and organ 3-4 hours a day...I

don't ride a bike or lift weights. I do hike infrequently, and swim when the

opportunity presents itself.
