My own opinion, for what it's worth, is that lengthy fasts and staying with
Moms are not good ideas. Lex Rooker tried the former and took years to
recover. I tried the latter, and all Mom did was try to fatten me on carbs,
just like she had done in my youth, with severely negative consequences,
despite my repeatedly explaining to her that I did best on a Paleo diet. One
of the biggest mistakes of my life. I fell into some of my old carb-eating
habits. I still can't believe I let my parents talk me into that one. They
were well-intentioned, but seriously misguided, and I was foolish to listen.
If you want to get healthy, I say, eat like a super-healthy wild animal, not
a warm and fuzzy Mom.
