I monitor the repeater for the club I'm president of, and another one I
belong to in case the club members want to get in touch with me, over the
last few years that's about the extent other than NTS, ARES and RACES nets,
of my 2 meter activity and I'm considering now that the first region net on
75 meters is being built up to some form of what it should be, I'm seriously
considering dropping back to one RACES net a month, and one local NTS net a
week as NCS, checking in when ever I have traffic, and making that the
extent of my 2 meter activity. Outside of my packet station which runs 24/7
and gets some digi action in the mornings again I'm seeing, I'll leave that
up. One of the clubs I belong to, while I monitor them on 2 meters, most of
their activity is on 900 MHz now anyway so I might really cut back to just
the club I'm president of for monitoring there, then stick with 900 MHz and
my own UHF repeater when it finally gets together and up.
I'm happiest though on HF, I know that's a shock to most of you, but that's
where I like to put the most of my effort which is evident since I have 2 HF
radios on my radio desk and only one for the other bands. Actually, TS-2000
I use for 75 through 440 usually, then I have a radio for GMRS, and another
for 900 MHz. TS-830, for now, has the backup radio spot on the desk. When I
get an amp it will probably be there and the 830 will be with the 570 on a
shelf across the room, unless I'm forced to sell the 570 which is possible
